Stronger Together
Welcome to REKINDLED HOPES!
Rekindled Hopes is an initiative to bring back hope and happiness back to
disaster affected children through interim schooling.
INTERIM SCHOOLING
Rekindled Hopes is an Interim schooling program as an effort to restore the sense of normalcy and routine back to the children who are affected by cyclones or natural calamities. As children are one of the most vulnerable sections, it hits them the hardest. While their parents/caregivers are busy bringing back economic stability or restoring wrecked houses they are left with almost no support system. Times like this make them more vulnerable to violence, abuse, and even to human trafficking or child labor. So, Interim schooling programs will help to create a safe space for affected children with activities that help them cope with the trauma. As schools reopen months later, these interim schooling will create child-friendly spaces to engage children in activities for psychosocial improvement. Children will be actively engaged in individual and group activities of drawing, singing, dancing, storytelling which will help them understand, express, and cope with their own emotions as a result of the trauma caused by such cyclones.
